So this is an article that you guy’s/ Girls wanted me to react to on women seeking mental health.
Young women at that, so this was written by Dahaba Ali Hussen, I take it he must be a writer, & it’s in the guardian newspaper.
So I’ll go through the key points and react to what is being said 🙂
A fifth of young women who have sought help for their mental health say they were told we’re being “dramatic”.
The survey also found that 27% of those who had spoken up about a mental health crisis over the past five years were told their issues could be hormonal.
So right now I’m getting the sense that they just want to palm off the issue, and set them off on their way, I don’t know who is saying this yet, but it’s not good at all to do this, how easy is it just to tell a woman you’re being overdramatic, no wonder a lot of you ladies feel like nobody listens to you SMH.
Recent ONS statistics showed suicide rates among women under the age of 25 in the UK increasing and stand at one every two days.
This is what happens when you brush others off, when you feel like they have no choice, of course you always do, but they are not in the right frame of mind, and we never know the full extent of the issue, as when they try and come forward they get told some b.s. It’s really sad and a shame, that we are losing human life for this reason, it really is.
The YOUGOV survey, commissioned by suicide prevention charity campaign against living miserably AKA Calm, More than 2,000 women about their experiences when speaking up about a mental health crisis such as panic attacks or manic depression.
It found that many women did not feel they were taken seriously when they attempted to seek help.
A third said they were asked if they were “overthinking things” and 20% were asked if they were on their period.
OMG WHAAAAT?, This does not sound like just random they are going to, it’s health experts, and you are asking them, are you on your period, this is some play ground cussing at best! They should be fired and not allowed to practice ever again, this is crazy, how can they say this!
Here is a graph about what many young women feel they are not taken seriously when seeking help
for their mental health…
for their mental health…
The charity (Calm) cited some of the leading factors of mental health crises in women aged 18-34 as body image, loneliness, relationship issues, money worries, comparing themselves to others on social media.
I mean, I’m really not surprised that these are the things that this age group is suffering from & in that exact order too, the news is being pushed in the direction, to make you feel like it’s FOMO and social media that, if you act in a certain way and have and do certain things in this way, you will blow up, then if addicted to it, the lines are blurred between the internet and in real life..
However, I’m really disgusted with how health so-called pros are treating women, and being sexist before they even say what is really on their mind.
So we’ve got men that struggle to even talk, now women that do talk are getting cussed out, not right.
If you feel like you need to speak to a pro that has set up a clean, open & modern therapy module that caters for women just as well as it does for men, where you will be listened to, cared for & helped, look no further… (Learn More)
I’ve enjoyed sharing that with you, let me know what you think.
Until next time, ciao 🙂
