Why We Should Be Eating More Yam ?

This is the seventh in a month’s worth of veg-based content to encourage you to eat more vegetables daily.

Instead of going for the junk food on autopilot, why not go for Yam instead?

  Let’s get into it below!

My Case

Yams are a type of tuber used/originated in the Caribbean, Africa & Asia.

A lot of you get yam confused with sweet potatoes, but a good way to tell, is that when you go to the store, yams are normally brown, and sweet potatoes orange.

Also, on taste, yams are not as sweet nor soft, they’re ore starchy in taste.

The insides are white, but can also be purple, pink or yellow…

It all depends on how far the yam is coming on when you purchase it.

The nutrients are below.

Carbs

Protein

Vitamin C

Vitamin B5

Manganese

Magnesium

Potassium

Thiamine

Copper Folate

Yams  are a great source of fibre, but they are high in manganese and potassium too.

This is very important for the support of your metabolism, having a healthy heart and the function of it & bone health.

Why keep on eating potatoes when you can eat yam?

If you’re tired of eating something that’s good for you, there is plenty more to choose from…

God never missed when he created all of this, it’s us as a whole that have missed out on the many fruit and veg that is lit under our noses!

As there is an agenda from the media, to leave you sick and dependent on the government, that feeds these outlets (But that’s not a topic I’m going deep on, in this LMAO)

This has so much fibre in that, it will leave you feeling fuller for longer.

I always tend to say this, but for yam I’m not joking, it will fill you up more than a lot of fibre foods out there, trust me on that.

The good thing about yam too is the fact you can have it as a side dish, you can make it into a sauce, you can cut up like chips and eat it and so on…

The only thing I will say is that you cannot eat this raw!

It’s toxic and must be cooked properly, but other than that we are all good.

My case is done, now it’s over to you.

Thank You For Reading!

WHAT’S THE VERDICT?

I’m leaving that to the jury… Which is all of YOU?

Let me know in the comments, if this is a veg you will eat more of or not.

Put I’ll eat, or I won’t eat in the comment section.

 Until We Meet Again, Ciao

 We Look Up
