The food industry will pull the wool over your eyes and sell you unhealthy food & pretend it’s healthy many times, it makes them a profit.
I want to expose some of these ultra processed foods today & make sure you know the truth, so you can make a better choice for your health, as I assume, you are here to become healthier, no ?
So let’s get it!
Here are some examples of ultra processed food below..
Protein bars
Weight loss shakes
Energy drinks
Granola bars
Yoghurts
White Bread
all extremely processed
What might shock you is that even lean protein can be misleading, this is why you need to learn how to read the label.
Just like those letters you get sent, that are scams or a deal where it seems to good to be true, then in small print it has the kicker, it’s the same here only it’s in BOLD as they know you don’t know lol.
So for example, Deli meats are ultra-processed, let alone the fact it’s red meat.
In this instance, you’ll be better off eating real fresh chicken or turkey instead.
Vegan meat is no better at this, there has been layers of processing to turn plant based proteins into meaty fake replicas, it goes without saying as it’s trying to get the same taste as the meat (Though why any Vegan would want that, you love Animals so much no ?)
Would that not be a nightmare for y’all to be eating anything that can trigger you?
Anyway’s often you’ll find vegans and vegetarians tend to eat more ultra-processed foods compared to meat eaters and pescatarians for that reason.
How To Avoid Ultra Processed Food ?
Well, it’s to be able to spot it before you buy it.
One of the biggest signs is the list of ingredients at the back.
If it contains loads of ingredients, especially ones that don’t sound like real food, don’t buy it!
REAL food is simple, you don’t need no label & is fresh all that.
If you are going to buy something that is packaged, it should not have a load of ingredients in it, with words you have no clue what it is, half this stuff you would never dream of putting in your own food, if only you saw how half this trash was made.
Always check to see if there is added sugar, saturated fat and how much they have put in it too.
Salt also if any, as for drinks, energy drinks are ultra processed and should not be drunk!
They seem to have every colour, but this is not the Power Rangers, you’ll gain nothing but a sugar rush & a chronic disease overtime, oh in the short term when you have that sugar crash, that messes up your mental health & you feel like rubbish, you are what you eat after all no ?
Be sure to invest in fresh food, make your own food if not all the time when you can!
If you are saying you have no time, you will have to carve out time, or it will made for you by the sum of eating choices made & you end up in hospital… The choice is yours.
