Top 5 Diet foods that make you fat Instead of thin

Top 5 Diet foods that make you fat Pic

Nutrition is full of all sorts of myths and misconceptions.

I find mostly what people believe to be true is often the exact opposite of the truth.

So here are 5 “Diet” foods that are actually making people fatter!

1. Agave Nectar- AKA ( Agave Syrup)  has been marketed as a healthier option to sugar. The problem is it is not healthy at all, and if anything is worse than SUGAR.

One of the main reasons why sugar is bad for you in the first place is the fact that it contains excessive amounts of the basic sugar, fructose. Sugar contains about 50% fructose, whereas Agave contains anything from 70 to 90%!

Although very small amounts of fructose sugar found in fruits is ok, consuming excessive amounts from ADDED sugars can effect your health dramatically.

For example; high amounts of fructose can cause insulin resistance and elevate levels of the fat storing hormone, insulin.

2. Granola–  Now if you make Granola with real ingredients  then it can be healthy.

But Granola suffers from what most other so-called health foods do. When the food manufactures start to produce them in their masses, they change them in a way in which they are no longer healthy.

The Healthy ingredients that Granola does have are Oats & Nuts, but when you start to add sugar and oil to it then it is no longer healthy.

3. Low Fat SugarYoghurt again, is healthy food. But the problem once again is that most yoghurts found in stores especially, that say “Low in Fat”… are highly processed crap.

When food manufactures remove fat from foods, they taste awful. That is why they add loads of other stuff to make up for the lack of fat. So in the case of yoghurt, they add sugar, high fructose corn syrup or any kind of artificial sweetener.

The silliest thing of all is saturated fat is good for you, and they have removed that, only to be replaced with something that is much worse (SUGAR).

4. Commercialised Salad Dressing–  Vegetables are of course healthy for you. They’re loaded with nutrients, antioxidants, soluble fibre etc.

This is the reason, why salads are  very healthy to have in a meal.

However, I understand a lot of people don’t like the bland taste of vegetables, so they add dressing to their salads.

The problem with commercial dressing is that they’re made with nasty ingredients like soy bean oil and high fructose corn syrup.

I would recommend you make your own dressing. For example; Extra virgin olive oil, Vinegar and some spices is a much healthier option.

And of course, salad dressings can also be very high in calories and it is easy to consume  lots of it, which can be a major problem.

5. Gluten Free Junk Food- Gluten free is very popular in this day and age.

The reason behind it is a third of Americans are actively trying to reduce the amount of gluten in their diets.

All the food manufactures have done is jump on the bandwagon and brought out all sorts of gluten free replacement products to the market.

The problem is that they are usually just as bad as their gluten laden counterparts.

Theses foods are made with highly refined carbs, sugar and various chemicals.

If you’re going to banish gluten, then choose foods that are naturally gluten free (like plants and animals)NOT processed gluten- free foods.

And anyway, Junk food with “ gluten free” on the label … IS STILL JUNK FOOD!
