If you’re going to workout in the heat outside, you need to come correct, or it’s going to end badly!
Β
It can be done, but you have to be smart about it, so here are some tips I will share with you below.
Β
The Hottest Part Of The Day Is A No, No!
Β
The first bit of advice for you, don’t be a fool!
Β
Going out at the hottest point, is to stop you from getting the most intense heat, why would you do this ?
Β
Β
This is why it’s best if you are going to exercise outside, to do so in the morning or late in the day if not the night.
Β
Β
The hottest temperatures normally occur between 11 am and 3pm, but of course check your weather forecast, the humidity can work against you as your body’s ability to cool the skin since sweat can’t properly evaporate.
Drink Your Fluids
Drink plenty of fluids, when I say this I’m talking about water!
Β
The key to being safe in this heat, is to remain hydrated before and throughout your entire workout.
Β
Do not wait until you’re thirsty to drink fluids, by then it’s too late, you are becoming dehydrated.
Β
Β
Help your body sweat, and cool down by drinking water frequently, it’s always good to drink your water cold too.
Β
Β
I would just say that if it’s extremely cold water, you may end up with stomach cramps, but that depends on the person, also do not drink alcohol, caffeine or energy drinks, sodas these trashy drinks can cause you to lose fluids & dehydrate you.
Use sunscreen If You Need To
Β
For those of you that need it, use sunscreen, you don’t want your skin to burn.
Β
Β
So just reapply every 2 hours, if you are out sweating it off, when you sunburn it decreases your body’s ability to cool itself and increases the risk of skin cancer.
Your Clothing Matters
Your cloths must be breathable & light for the workout in the intense heat!
Β
So that’s your cloths that must be ventilated, you’ll get that from synthetic fabrics like nylon, polyester, and lycra, they easily absorb sweat and allow for evaporation.
Β
Light colours such as white or grey reflect heat better than other colours.
Β
Β
Lastly, the most important part of your body to keep cool in the heat, is your head!
Β
Β
Wear a hat and if you are feeling really tired, soak it in cold water, wearing a hat won’t reduce your temperature, but it will improve your comfort & keep the sun out of your face too.
THATβS IT!
Iβve enjoyed sharing that with you, let me know what you think.
