The Way To Catch Up On Sleep.. Before It’s Too Late

Playing catch up on our missed hours is no fun at all.

When we catch up it takes even longer for our bodies to recover.. even longer if you’ve worked out that same day, you’ll most likely feel unbearably sore.

On average it takes three to four days to fully recover from one hour of lost sleep.

So just imagine losing out on another 2 days sleep, that’s’ 9 to 12 days before you’d make a full recovery.

This leads to sleep deprivation and possibly weight gain (Click Here)

Of course this is not what we want so here are some tips/advice on how to catch up on sleep… before it’s too late

How To Make Up The Hours

Choose between 7 to 9 hours sleep no more no less when you do sleep at night.

Sleep an extra two hours longer on the weekends, from the time you would normally get up at.

Take two 20 to 30 minute naps one in the afternoon and one in the early evening.

Get to bed earlier the next night.

Be consistent until you’ve made a full recovery.

How To Get Enough Sleep

Don’t oversleep by going past 9 hours sleep.

Don’t under sleep and sleep less than 7 hours.

Get to sleep 15 minutes earlier each night until you find your ideal bedtime.

Stay consistent with your bedtime.

Keep mobile/cell phones on airplane mode/Out of the room.

Create an evening routine, write it down so if you slip up you’ll know the thing that keeps you up late.

Make your bedroom as dark as possible.

If you like to working out in the evenings, make sure it’s 3 to 5 hours before you go to bed.

Look at the extra tips I’ve got for you (Click Here)

What Are The Benefits When We Do Get Sleep?

Whilst we sleep, our brain is cataloging information and healing our bodies.

It chooses what’s important to hold onto, and what can be let go.

Our brain then creates brand new pathways that help us navigate for the day ahead.

Sleeping heals and repairs our blood vessels and our hearts.

I believe that the benefits of getting enough sleep are at times overlooked;

I feel that we must start understanding that sleep is an activity.

The reason why, is that sleep is just as important as an activity you would do whilst you’re wide awake.

Getting enough sleep improves our memory.  People tend to be better on a mental given task after a full night’s sleep.

Which means if you were to get Nine hours rather than seven hours, your mind will be that much sharper and alert for the next day.

Lastly, getting more sleep helps our bodies stay healthy.

It prevents weight gain (Providing what we are eating & drinking is healthy)

What Happens If We Are Inconsistent?

This is not the aim but I know a lot of you will have the “What if we are inconsistent?”

So here’s a list…

Weight gain

Anxiety

Depression

Bipolar disorder

Diabetes

Heart disease

Memory Loss

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys. Please do let me know though…
