The Mental Reset You Need To Press If You’re Feeling Burnout

Your body & mind can only handle the feeling of being overwhelmed and overworked for so long, guy’s/ girls.

If you are feeling high levels of stress and pressure day in and day out and ignore it, push it back, it will build.

This creates exhaustion, which then leads to melt downs and physically burn out.

Motivation goes out the window, you feel and say things you would not say and feel if you felt on point.

There are many more signs, and I’m going to be talking about them and if you spot any of them in you, it’s time to press the reset button.

Signs Of Burnout

Lose of pride in your work, Forgetfulness, Difficulty concentrating,  Falling off track of your goal, and no urge to get back Increased Anger towards others, Fatigue Pain in the body, Insomnia & Crying a lot.

Burnout At Work

Burnout can happen at a faster rate at work to, for example in the healthcare system, they tend to experience a lot more burnout at a rapid pace, this is not good at all.

This can have negative impact on your performance at work, when you get back from work too, what I mean is you don’t want to do your hobbies, and spend time with your family, or even relax outside of work.

You’re too tired for all of that, this over time can create a cycle which can get you depressed and then try and commit suicide.

We cannot wait for your bosses to give you mental health days off, you need to address it now, and recognize that you’re burnt out, and take that time out for yourself.

Identify Changes You Can Make Right Away

You must find out what the root cause of it is, that may take some time doing this alone.

Yet, you also want to make changes that you can see in the here and now, to help you mentally.

For example, those that love to work and work and work… If you’re feeling burnt out, you need to lighten your load right now!

If you’re doing five time-consuming projects that are keeping you working long hours, week in and week out then you need to stop, you should not be doing all of them at one time.

If you have a lot of ambition, that’s great, but that will be your downfall as you’re trying to do it all at one time… Noticed I said the word try, which means fail to do, it’s not going how you planned it to go, and you’re self hating yourself about you should have done this and that, and it’s not right etc.

You’re taking all of your energy away from you, instead focus on one, or get others to help you share the load. If it’s a work matter, tell your boss to reassign a project to another on your team.

Another way is you just can’t say no to a loved one asking you to do something. This is a form of people pleasing, you take on too much request to avoid letting anyone down.

Expect you’re letting yourself down, you’re already working your butt off, and you’re taking request to do things to please others, and you’re suffering.

Take a look at what’s important from your commitments and consider cancelling or rescheduling the less important request if at all.

This alone will give you more room to breathe, and from the sound of it… You really need this!

Talk To Trusted People

When you’re burnt out, it’s so more important s it’s hard to find solutions when your mind is fried.

If you have one person that you trust, please speak with them, you can brainstorm solutions or even just chat with them to unload if they are happy to listen.

However, what you don’t do is bottle it up, this could cost you your life.

I understand not everyone has one person, even if you love them, what they tell you may not be the best advice, well this what free advice from those that are not expert can give you… The lucky dip, you may get good advice once, but over and over again?

Your chances are very slim, and are you willing to risk your own mental health to find out?

Examine Your Options

You may not see an easy road to recovery, and it will not be straightforward to do this either.

However, you will not be down forever, for example my friend had a job she did not like and everyone there was not very nice to her.

She hated the work and felt really bad, and felt her purpose was not being met there.

So, she spoke to her boss and left, she is now looking for a new job, and is going down her own path to what she loves, which is writing poems.

Sometimes, when we have time to just be still like her, we find out that they’re other routes we can go down.

Or even better off the path that is not yours, and walking your own path, until you find your way.

This again will take the burnout away, to just stay in something you hate for money or shame could cost you your life.

Again, are you willing to risk that?

Work On Self Positive Talk

We all need to be a little less harsh on ourselves, and show ourselves more love.

Reaching burnout can lead to feelings of loss, like failure and just a loss of passion and purpose in what direction to go in.

You talking smack about yourself, is not going to help you get out of that, if you keep thinking like this, you’ll sink deeper and deeper.

You need to show yourself kindness, how is it that you’re kinder to everyone else than yourself?

You’re not perfect and nor is anyone on this earth, it’s ok to take breaks, I was telling this to my Sister (Not blood) Resting and doing things, that is not work, is filling up your cup again, so that you can not suffer from burnout and be ready to go and crush your goals.

I see this a lot in exams, oh I must get this mark, or I have to get this mark, or it’s the end of the world!

The school system needs you to get these marks, so they can get extra cash at the end of the school term, if you did not ace your exam a lower grade is not the end of the world.

I’m not saying you should aim for low grades, what I’m saying a piece of paper, that can be exams or money, is not more than you.

Not more than your life, I’ve witnessed and help save young boys and girls from self harm, depression & suicide, many times in one lifetime.

The root of it all, A piece of paper, outside pressure from those that have had their chance in life & messed up and are trying to live through their children and a lack of awareness, to the bigger picture of life.

2020 showed that, don’t lose sight or touch of what you saw and how you felt, when so many things were shut down, or if you have been sick, I mean really sick, none of those things are important then.

If we don’t break out of this, and treat ourselves better, these woes you feel and the negative talk inside your head will break you!

Burn out, imagine you’re on fire, if you don’t take the fire out, you will die. Just like with smoking you may not see it, but your insides are dying, you die inside before you do on the outside too, you may look fine, but be anything but.

Your Needs Matter

They matter all of the time, I don’t care what anyone says.

You put yourself last and wonder why you’re feeling this burn.

I don’t like when I hear others say, oh in an ideal world, we could take time off.

Like it cannot happen, oh in an ideal world we could schedule for another day and go to the beach.

It’s not one though is it, that’s life!

LESS OF THATTTTTTTTTTT!!!

First of all that is your exp, it’s not the worlds.

If you work 9 to 5, it’s going to be harder yes, but it can be done.

I don’t live this life anymore, as I’m my own boss, I can take a day off

whenever I please, I understand I’m in a spot where many are working/dream to be.

I’m blessed, and I don’t take that for granted, however if you have bills to pay and kids to

take care of, just going into work when you are burntout or very ill is not a good plan.

You only see this as a way out, because you’re burntout, they are other prospects…

Not just one thing.

You can tell me bills, and kids to feed, but those are crutches used to stay in a lane

that is killing you.

What you need is some alone time, even if it’s just an hour and work on a way to

get out of this mess and see you have more choices.

When you make time to rest, spend time with loved ones vs taking on more projects,

working out, reading books that talk about getting out of 9 to 5, reading books

that tell you to stay in 9 to 5 but how to do it without harming yourself.

If you knew that you deserve a self care days,  mental health  days, just so you can reset

like i know you do, you would see that your boss is taking you for a ride.

You do all this work, and you nearly die doing it, and to them you’re just another cog in the machine.

Burning yourself out for what?

Are you even happy with your pay?

You owe it  to yourself, to fill your own cup and look after your mental health/ physical body.

If your boss cannot understand that or feel that, he or she can kick rocks!

If you have kids, and they mean anything to you, the money won’t mean as much

as you being present and not burntout, which is showing the worst of you…

Kids pick up on everything, if you’re doing this for them… Put your mental health

where your mouth is, and stand up for what is right, not just what is easy in the now…

Change is here, you have everything in you to do this, we are not going to burn out

In silence any longer!

Yes I do! My usually way out of feeling burnout is to go out on the town, I need a better way to cope so maybe therapy is not a bad idea after all.
