Protect Your Skin With These Foods

For those of you that put on sunscreen, you must know that they’re foods that help protect your skin from sun damage too!

This is in no way to tell you not to wear sunscreen, but to boost your chances of not getting sun damage.

So, I really hope it helps you out & the foods will be below…

Nuts & Seeds

Chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts & flax are all omega-3 essential fatty acids.

They are great for your skin, our bodies cannot make omega-3’s, so it’s essential that we get them in.

Of course, if you have a nut allergy, skip this one! What do omega-3’s do to your skin, you may be wondering ?

They help maintain your skin, and they are anti-inflammatory, It also helps when you spend too much time out in the sun.

It’s like if you’re cheeky with it, it can let you off the hook. For me of course I don’t suffer from this LMAOOO.. WOOOOOOOOO!!!

However, I know that a lot of you do, so I would suggest you eat trail mixes, and no ,not the ones with the chocolate in them.

It will help you get use to eating many kinds of nuts, and it will fill you up as a snack, rather than eating junk and getting further away from your health goals.

A quick side note here: Eggs & fish a great for this too, so if you want more protection or cannot eat nuts, then this another way.

Watermelon

Lycopene, which is an antioxidant, is packed in Watermelons!

Lycopene is actually the reason why Tomatoes are red, but that’s on some other ish…

The point being, Lycopene absorbs both UVA & UVB radiation, even though it will take up to between 4 and 8 weeks to kick in.

Once it does, you will be protected and the Lycopene will act as a natural sunblock. So, an example, if you start eating them in May, by June it should work/ from May until July it should work.

The more watermelon you eat per day, the better too, even though you will still have to wait the weeks.

Blueberries

This is really good to start getting into the habit of eating Blueberries, as it helps protect your skin during the summer.

Blueberries are really rich in antioxidants and fight off free radicals that can damage your skin due to sun exposure and stress.

The vitamin C helps prevent wrinkles too, so add this to your breakfast or your yoghurt for snack & feel good knowing that this is a great way to protect your skin from the sun.

Cauliflower

Normally, you have to move to the bright coloured fruits and vegetables to get your antioxidants in abundance.

So, this may surprise you, but Cauliflower is pale but also has a lot of antioxidants in it too.

It contains so much, in fact, that it helps fight off oxidative stress and free radicals.

So don’t sleep on Cauliflower and eat up.

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys.

Please do let me know though…
