Pineapple The Health Benefits SpongeBob Didn’t Want You To Find Out

Pineapple is a very healthy tropical fruit for us to eat all year round.

It’s typically eaten in the summer time, but I would encourage you to start eating this more often.. you know how most people’s go-to fruits are Apples, Oranges or Bananas, well Pineapple is a great choice to add to the go-to fruits list.

Apparently (Randomly stumbled & found)  it got its name from European explorers who  went to South America and thought it looked like a Pine cone, so they named it Pineapple.

Pineapples are filled with nutrients and antioxidants which help aid boosting immunities, digestion etc.

Now this is all well and good, but there is a certain someone sweating right now

He lives in a Pineapple under the sea

Now, he’s not going to be too happy that his place of residence will be up for consuming; well I guess this is karma for  all the times I have had to endure that really tedious and annoying theme song of yours SPONGEBOB!

Packed With Nutrients

Pineapples are very low in calories but have a lot of nutrients in them.

Pineapples contain vitamins such  as Vitamin A & K, C, Zinc, Manganese, Phosphorus and Calcium.

Using two of these for example; Vitamin C is essential for growth and development, a healthy immune system and helping the absorption of iron in our bodies.

Manganese is a naturally occurring mineral that helps our growth, maintains a  healthy metabolism and has antioxidant in it.

Helps With Digestion

Having Pineapples regularly can protect you from many health conditions, including Diarrhea and constipation, also high blood pressure and blood clotting.

Pineapple is rich in fibre and promotes the passage of food into our digestive system at a normal rate and stimulates the release of the gastric and digestive juices to really help our food dissolve.

The bromelain (Enzymes extracts found in the stem of the Pineapple)  stimulates protein digestion, reduces your gut inflammation and helps with any digestive problems you would have faced.

Helps With Recovery After Workouts

Eating Pineapples has even been said to help with recovery times after a workout. This is down to the anti-inflammatory properties found in bromelain.

It’s clear that bromelain reduces inflammation, swelling, bruising and pain that occurs, after a hard workout.

Hard working exercises can also damage muscle tissue and cause surrounding inflammation. The affected muscles cannot do as many reps and get sore for at least three days.. could be more.

Bromelain speeds up recovery to the damaged muscle tissue and helps reduce inflammation around them.

Helps With Coughs & Colds

Pineapple, as we said before is very rich in Bromelain and Vitamin C, which means that it helps prevent respiratory illnesses while eliminating mucus from your body if you’re already infected.

It has been shown that it helps the reduction of mucus and build up in the respiratory tracts and sinus cavities.

Healthy Skin

Vitamin C in Pineapple is a super antioxidant that tones your skin. It also helps fight against acne and skin damage on the whole.

It delays the ageing process.. providing you’re not eating and drinking recklessly, and the appearance of wrinkles.. providing you’re not a stress pot!

I think this one is as  clear as your skin will be.

Tasty & Easy To Add To Your Meals

Pineapples are really convenient and easy to include into your diet.

They’re affordable and available in shops all year round, in many western markets they can be purchased fresh, frozen or even canned.

You can  add them to your fruit mix in a container and scoop them up and eat them at your leisure, to salads or a homemade  Pizza.

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys.  Please do let me know though…
