Listen To Your Body… Don’t Ignore This!

We listen far too much to outside forces and not our own bodies.

I want to make a change on that, in hope it will help you to trust you.

When you have a connection with your body, you will grow to love your body.

It’s when you start looking around and comparing, or hearing from the past, is what gets you down.

We can do so much for our health if we listen to our bodies, so I’m going to talk more about this below.

Breakdowns For The World To See

You know 2021 has been a year where mental health has been spoken about a lot, and the aftermath of last year and how we are all doing.

There are many right now who are struggling mentally, they’re not coping at all.

Mental health does not discriminate, as we’ve all found out with the list of athletes that have been struggling since 2020 or even before that but the info was hidden.

Prime examples Naomi Osaka who has been struggling to handle the storm of the media and their overall negative questions, since winning her first grand slam, which was the US Open in  2018.

She did not feel like herself, she spoke up about it and got bullied and abused for it.

Or how about Simone Biles?  Who did not feel right in Tokyo, and at one of the events walked away as she could really hurt herself because her body had shut down on the grandest stage for an Olympian.

Again the racists came out, if both Naomi & Simone had not trusted themselves and ignored their bodies.. Who is to say either of them would be here with us today as we know ?

I hope this is a lesson that when others speak about their mental health that we open our ears and our minds, they know what their own body is saying, just because it does not fit an agenda or something that you want does not mean they put their own mental health at risk for you.

Also, I found it disgusting that when they both spoke up, they were attacked, so no wonder it’s so hard for many to open up and speak about how they feel or not to not do something…

All because their mind is not mentally able to do it, without getting abused or mocked by others.

I’m happy the two of them have taken time for themselves & I hope you can see by these two examples that no matter what comes back at you, don’t fold on what you know is best for you in the moment.

Your body  knows when it’s not right, and never ignore that for nothing or no one!

Your Own Fitness

It’s not just about the body, it’s about the mind too. You need to look as good as you do outside on the inside, if not more!

I see a lot of you working out and wanting to keep going each week, but then feeling some kind of guilt if you miss a week or two because you are hurt.

Resting is a part of your workout, you have broken down your body, the rest is the repair and is a part of your fitness.

If you’re injured you must rest up and heal, you’re not getting any better by working out… I’m not talking about rehab after surgery by the way, just sprains and things like this.

Or even if it’s just mental and your body is saying no, listen!   There is something not right, and you need to take time to know what that is.. Just doing something for the sake of it, and saying you don’t want to let this or that person down, don’t make you a hero or a saint.

We don’t want to see you hurt yourself even more than you are already, or feel worse than you do right now..

This is why you need support around you, those that understand and don’t push you when you know your body is not right or your mind is not right.

That is a topic in itself but for the example you know when the vibe don’t feel right, when someone’s energy is off… It’s the same here listen to your body, it’s always trying to tell you what’s up if you bother to listen.

For my own exp in fitness, I used to want to keep going when hurt, and it always made things worse.

Over the years I’ve become wiser and learned that the resting is the workout too, it’s the repair, it’s what’s going to keep me going a month from now, a year from now 10 years from now (If I’m alive for it God willing!)

So from now own let’s vow to listen more when our body is speaking to us, and let’s put our mental health first, and just watch everything over time fall into place.

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys.

Please do let me know though…
