If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, I would like to help you today, with how to stop & prevent unwanted thoughts!
This is a great way to deal with intrusive thoughts, as you’re not denying the thought that is presently with you, which then for you fear it loses it’s power, to fight against it, means the fear will grow, and it will mess you up, you must without judgment accept this is what I’m thinking about.
They even have a meditation for this, which you should do too, now I’m not saying you must chant something or, sit on the floor with your feet crossed even, though it does help to keep you grounded, what I am saying is that you close your mind & it’s not that you think of nothing.
This is mindfulness meditation, you are supposed to see thoughts and think things, you just don’t judge them!
Then you will start to hear your surroundings in the present, and this will guide you away from your intrusive thoughts, and on to what is present, the more that you do this, it may take time, but it is worth it, this works, you just have to keep doing it and doing it often, even if you judge your thoughts, it does not matter, as you could sit there for an hour and have 10 mins of mindfulness, and that is better than nothing at all.
Make sure you have some place quite to do this in, there are apps that can help, or you can go to YouTube & so on, all you need is a few spare moments, keep practising, you will see the results, trust me.
Practice Mindfulness
One of the core things you do when being mindful is to learn how to calmly observe your thoughts, this means without judgement, or running commentary on what you are thinking, then becoming emotionally in the thought.
Everything Passes
As the Brazilians always say, this is simple but a powerful mantra to say to yourself when you feel like it will not end.
It always does, thoughts are temporary, there is no such thing as a permanent state of mind, anyone telling you that that’s a red flag.
A lot of you have trauma that has been left for so long, and it’s just coming back to the surface, you need to face them, or they will carry on haunting you until the day that you die, there is a high number of clients, that have sought me out for their mental health, because of suppressed thoughts from past traumas, so I’m talking with experience here.
Start To Visualise
You need to start doing what you were doing when you were a kid in this aspect!
When you start to do this, your thoughts will feel more like you control them.
If you could see right now, yourself in a country you would love to visit, then see yourself site seeing, eating out, doing whatever you like doing for fun, seeing your whole day from morning until night, notice how known of this is permanent ?
If you practice mindfulness you will see that as the time goes, the thoughts in your mind are passing and changing, you may even change locations, the more positive images you see in the day, the better.
This why you should be mindful of everything you see, hear, touch, smell & taste, as this is a direct impact on what you project in your mind.
BE PRESENT
This is the main thing, and if you’re not present, it’s like you are vulnerable to these thoughts, and many more things that are bad for your health.
It’s that simple, you need to get to the present, this is the only time that exist.. Right now!
If you keep judging every thought, and think that is around you, and your own thoughts, about what you are thinking, and it’s negative, you’ve got problems.
Some of you are living in created stories, and they’re not based on reality at all, unplug!
Go outside, alone, go for a walk, get into nature, get your peace and quiet.
That’s not sometimes, that’s every day, find a quiet space and sit in the present, this could save your life, it’s so easy, yet you’re making the hardest thing to do.
Forget about keeping up with everything that is outside of you, and focus on the inner you, living in the past does you know good, obsessing over the future, is bad too, it keeps you away from right now, which is all we’ve got…
You see the other too are concepts, they do not exist, both can be used in a positive way, but to live there, rent-free, and you are suffering, you cannot allow yourself to do this.
Focus on the present moment more!
Good times or harder times, keep your feet on the ground & tilt your head & look up!!!
You’ll find these issues fade away, this is not sometimes, do it daily, you stop and go rent-free to the past of the future and try to live their like it’s your home, you’ll find it’s a prison, keeping you from right now, which is just so sad to see.
