We are designed to move & in some form or another we do this every day anyway inside the house or not.
We should be walking at least 10K steps per day (Read More) for those of you that don’t know.
If you’re walking routine is dead/you’re just bored with it then add some of these adjustments to your walk.
Find Locations That Are Beautiful & Peaceful
What I find that really helps me is not going to the same place over and over again out of force!
We all know how that feels like when we are told that we must stay in a certain place and cannot leave now huh.
So I’ll have at least 4 locations that I can get to close to me and 4 locations that are far away from me.
So that’s 8 right?, so I can switch whenever just in case it becomes same old & to be honest with you the locations are so beautiful that I could happily just pick one of these and keep going there, but I always have other locations at hand just in case.
Google Maps is a great way to find new spots & see exactly where the hell you’re going without getting lost… Google Maps saved my life countless times from being lost & eaten by wolves!
I think it’s so important to find a location that is peaceful & you feel comfy, there is no price you can put on a walk where it feels like the place is your own land…
But hey if you have your own land that is big enough to walk around go for it! Lastly it will make you want to actually go on your walks & skip days and potentially turn into a rut.
Bring Supplies With You
The amount of times I have Di1’s telling me that the reason they don’t walk as much is because they do not have anything to do when they are walking.
It is really strange to me because at school for example we would have things called backpacks & they had books in them and pencil case etc…
So why not use the same method but instead bring Water & healthy food to keep our strength up, Weights to carry for part of your walk, skipping rope, your dog if you have one, your phone to listen to an audiobook or music!
It’s just simple things like this that can make your walk so much better or not just the same thing over and over again, I think if we have a love sense of value on what this walk means then I can see why this question is asked.
Put more value on the walk in what that means to you and your life in the moment & you won’t feel like mehhh it’s just a walk.. But you need to ask yourself why you’re even doing this in the first place if it’s got that point.
It has to be deep for you to keep doing it, or it’s just not going to become a habit which sucks for the two of us because… You’ll be right back at square one again & just have to read this all over again…
I mean my numbers will be higher, but I want you to get it the first time!
Oh, as the healthy food I’m not talking about any stupid energy bars or sports drinks, you can put that in the bin right now. I’m talking Nuts, fruits, veg etc…
So if you do feel tired along the way the foods can boost you in a way that last vs a big sugar rush and then your levels just drop along with you on the floor LMAO.
Obstacles Are The Way
These parks these days all have some form of work out equipment in place.
You know things for pull-ups, push-ups, a mini type rope etc, which is all a form of exercise.
So why not when you see them use them?
Even the lightest of reps will be worthwhile and just shock your body because it will not be expecting you to be doing such work.
This is strength training and this will help you get stronger but also lose weight, you see in this case the obstacles are the way!
Having someone who is into the same things you are is a great thing to have, you just feel better.
You know going out for walks in no different, workout together stay healthy together… That’s your body and your mental health.
The joy it brings to just have one person come along with you that you’re aligned with makes all the difference, a long walk can feel really short when you’re with someone you really like or love.
If You’re ALONE Speak With Yourself
Stop thinking so much about what others are thinking of you & start thinking about what’s best for you!
You know It makes zero sense if they are strangers, you’re walking alone anyway so speak with you.
It can be in your head or out aloud, whatever floats your boat…
Just speak with you uplift yourself, pick yourself first, love yourself, praise yourself, see yourself as you really are & not the run down version your old self used to be from the past.
For me, I cannot spend any time thinking about bad things or worries when I am going for walks, I go on walks for peace of mind not to go to war with my mind, over thinking this and that…
Let go & let it be, be present in the moment… What can you hear, what can you smell, what can you see?
This is a great time too when alone to manifest and to see what it is that you want, if you’ve not been able to find a place that looks nice you can use your mind to make it so, it’s all about choice you have imagination so use it.
Take The Stairs Forget The Elevator
Going up stairs is great for your health I’m sure you already know this, doing this daily is a must for any walking routine for faster results.
I get asked well how many times per day, to me it’s like as many times as you can!
Why? Because we are walking up and down anyway for those of us that have stairs in our homes, so it makes no sense for me to tell you oh go walk 5X up and down and that’s it…
When I know well that you’ll be up there for toilet breaks, phone charger, hats, lipstick, or something you thought was downstairs but is really up.
Stair climbing has been shown to decrease the risk of death and is so easy to add to your walking routine even before you’ve left the house…
If all you see is a stairs mehh that’s all it will be, if you see it as a place for you to drop weight faster and smarter before you go for your walk the game will change for you, I’m telling you attitude is everything.
