How To Make A Shopping List Sustainable & Healthy

I’m going to walk you through how to make a shopping list sustainble & healthy at the same time!

Once you get this right, this will be another clear passage way in your mind, another thing to not worry about…

I hope this brings you clarity.

How To Read The Labels 101

If you’re buying actual food, that is fresh, no packaging and so on, then you don’t need to, as you will know there is no label,as there is no need for one!

That is what comes with true wealth, which is your health, what makes your body better, and is good for you tends not to have a food label to read at the back.

For everything else then, you need to be aware say you look at product X, the first three
ingredients that they list at the top, is what the manufacturer used a lot of…

That’s the first three ingredients are the main things in the product, that’s why
they are at the top, and have to do this by law.

So if you see things like sugar, salt & refined grains, that’s a three way
you don’t want to end up on, you should then put the product down as it’s
no good for you.

Also truely healthy ingredients that have labels, are not very long, it’s simple foods, if it’s got words you
don’t know, really long, it tends not to be good 90 percent of the time, depending on you knowledge with food.

Two or three lines max to explain what is in it, just like if you were asked what’s in your meal that you was eating, and your waitor just errr, ahhh & rambels on and on, this is a red flag!

This would suggest that it’s highly processed food, or lab food, the reason why you struggle to read the labels is for that reason, not that you’re stupid.

Now most labels come in colour coding right, so if you live in a country where they do this, you should not be buying any food that is in the red, that goes without saying.
Β
Β
What tends to happen is you’ll see part of the label is green for something it has little to no trace of, lets’ say salt 0 gram, fiber 20 grams again in the green, then the sugar 45 grams which would put you in the red, in which case it’s trash do not buy it, and think well it’s 2 to green and one to red, that’s not how it goes.
Β
Β
Now I need to let you know what amber means, the amber colour code is neither high nor low it’s in anything, so you will find that it has a mix of both in them.
Β
Β
Depending on the type of food, this can be good or bad, let’s say it’s a 50/50 split…
Β
Β
Anything that is meant to be healthy and yet you see it at amber, put it down, there are better choices, this is what gets those that are looking to lose weight, you need greens.
Β
Β
Those who are looking to gain, this would appeal to you more, but again, depending on what you’re eating, not all ambers are created equally.
Β

Breakfast Example

Now I’m using the example that most of you eat in the mornings which is cereal right ?

Β

If we use the colour coding as an example, half of these would be fit for the bin as they hit the reds
with their sugar content, coco puffs and all that is not healthy at all and will give you a sugar spike and crash.

If it’s showing you high sugar, or like cornflakes high salt count, then you must not purchase them.

So what are you looking for in your breakfast ?

Fiber & Protein!

Now you’re not going to get protein like that from the cereals, this is why it’s always best to eat fresh food,as it gives you everything you need over cereals.

However for cereals, you need to be focused on fiber, and they have a load of them that are high in fiber.

The reason why I say that is the fact that, you need this as it keeps you fuller for longer.

You will always feel hungry if you are used to eating sugar, as you get your spike and then you crash!
and need more food, thus you overeat and feel like crap.

So Porrige is very high in fiber for example, this is the proper porrige not instant porrige that is high
in sugar, infact if you check the labels you will see that, stay away from all this instant and quick this an that it’s all a scam!

If you top this off with some water & not drink coffee, tea & fruit juices you are doing what the 95 percent of the world is not doing, which is taking care of their bodies and treating their body like a temple that it is.

THAT’S IT!

Let me know if this helped you please… Ciao for now πŸ™‚
