How To Lose Baby Weight After Pregnancy

I’m seeing way too many mums really struggling to get to a healthy weight post-baby.

I can only imagine what it must be like to take care of a newborn, the change in routine & just recovering from having a baby..

It’s a pain I’ll never feel so S/O to all the mums, for which none of us would be here without you!

It’s so important to return to a healthy weight after childbirth, especially if you want to become pregnant again…

As it gives you less chance of complications to your child.

So below I’ll explain about baby weight, the pitfalls & give you tips to help you make the change & none stressful one for you.

Or one where you feel so desperate that you don’t fall for bandit’s lies/ products that are no good for you.

WTH Is Baby Weight Anyway?

Now the CDC AKA the centers for disease control and prevention state that women within a healthy weight should be carrying one baby gain 25 to 35 pounds.

I must add that the recommended weight gains for expectant people who are overweight, underweight or carrying twins or even more are different!

The extra fact that you have acts an energy reserve for birth of your child & breastfeeding…

The thing with that though is the excess weight can result in too much fat.

This where the term comes from “Baby weight”.

Did you know that nearly half of the women that fall pregnant gain more than the RA (Recommended amount) of weight during pregnancy?

The Pitfalls Of Keeping This Extra Baby Weight

I mean they’re more that are in the mind but I’m sticking to the body below.

Complications During Pregnancy:

You run the risk of being overweight well after your baby is born.

Increased risk of getting diabetes and heart disease.

So here are some tips I know will help you lose baby weight!

Be Willing To Break Your Big Goals

I’ll never tell you not to have big goals, what I will say about having big goals is to be willing to break them down.

What I mean by that is to put them into smaller goals so like your total year goal, your monthly goals, your weekly goals etc.

This will help you out so much to get to your goals, I’m mean if you want to learn more in depth about goals in general then (Read More).

No matter what celebrity stories you hear or what it says in a magazine, losing weight after being pregnant takes time.

It’s normal to be 8 to 10 pounds bigger than you was a year ago from when you was not pregnant, though a smaller percentage put on 20 more pounds.

So really it all depends on how much you’ve gained during pregnancy, in a year or two you should be able to lose 10 pounds.

Anything like 20 or 30 pounds within a year two is either not natural/out-and-out lie so keep an eye out for that.

If you’re still struggling with sorting all of this out please contact me and the team, as we’ve got you!

Stop Going On Diets

STOPPPPPPP ITTTTTTTTT!!!

I know I’m not talking to my OG Di1’s it’s the new ones, so if you OG skip this part.

Diets suck and they suck soooooooo badddddddd! It’s short term thinking, and it’ not a smart move for your long term goals.

I suggest you read this first if you have not already (Read More), as y’all need to know what’s really up.

Ok now I’m going to 0 in on crash diets which a lot of mothers like to go on after they have given birth, they are very low calorie diets that aim to lose a large amount of weight in the shortest time.

You know when you give birth to a baby, your body needs great nutrition to heal and recover right?

All of which takes time, & if you’re breastfeeding you will need more calories than normal too…  So this whole crash diets is not healthy at all.

Low calorie diets will leave you feeling tired & you will be lacking important nutrients too.

You may already be sleep-deprived so this will make things a thousand times worse!

Why should you be messed up even more than you will be via your newborn crying and screaming all the time huh?

Now I know you’re too smart for that, we outttttttttttttttt!

If You Can Breastfeed Do It

Breastfeeding your baby has many benefits for both you and your baby, here are some below…

Reduces Your Risk Of Disease- Mothers that breastfeed have a lower chance of getting breast cancer, Ovarian cancer, Type-2 diabetes & high blood pressure.

Supports Your Baby’s Immune System- The Breast milk contains important antibodies that help your baby fight against the many bacteria’s and viruses around.

Risk Of Disease For You Baby As He/She Grows Will Be Lower- That’s things like Type-1 diabetes, Asthma, Obesity, Ear infections etc.

Just a lil side note for you…

In the first 3 months (90 days) of Breastfeeding you might not lose any weight at all & may gain weight instead.

This is because the increased calorie intakes as well as not being able to be as active just after you’ve given birth, give it time.

You Need To Eat Foods High In Fiber

Think Vegetables & Grains!  Eating foods that are high in fiber are known to help you with your weight loss goals.

They keep you feeling fuller for longer, rather than eating those sugary snacks that are trash and make you want to eat more and more…

Go for fiber fueled foods.

Which leads me to my next tip!

Always Keep Healthy Snacks On You

Just like when they say you’re the 5 people you surround yourself with, you’re the 5 go to snacks that you have around you.

This plays a major key in how well you will do or not in this, if all you have is bad snack choices what do you think will happen?

If it’s not there to start with and you have healthy snacks what do you think will happen?

When you’ve got that will nothing can stop you I’m telling you.

You should arm yourself up with all the healthy snacks because this is what will get you to your goals & keep you there.

It does not matter if you are outside either, keep it on you so when you feel hungry you go for the smart & healthy choice every time.

Highly Processed Foods Is Messing You Up

When you’re eating whole & unprocessed foods’ life is a lot better period!

It’s filled with Protein, fiber & less of that coco we call sugar.

When you stay eating trash like Chips, most ready meals, Cookies & other baked goods, Sugary cereals, fast food take outs & chocolate you’re messed up!

The amount of unhealthy fats, salt & unwanted calories make it harder for you to lose weight… & you’ve just wasted your time.

It’s these type of processed foods that are addictive and send you down a bad road.

This trash makes up a large part of many people’s nutritional intake, which sucks this is why you need to be Di Nutritional, not a shred of rubbish like this on site…

Our ice never melted once, I’t’s global freshness up in here!

Get Moving

Inside or outside we’ve all got to be moving baby!

You should be taking 10K steps a day, if you want to know more about that then (Read More).

It can be walking, running, jogging, cycling, HIIT, it don’t matter… All of the above helps you burn calories and has stacks of health benefits.

It’s like you really don’t have a choice, if you choose to lie around and do nothing, you will suffer in the end the longer you leave it and the older you get.

Moving keeps our risk of getting chronicle diseases down, this along with great Di Nutrition will set you up for that W!

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys. Please do let me know, though…
