I’ll be honest with you Di1’s I never saw this one coming, me talking about life in lockdown LMAO.
It’s just so crazy to me how the world has all experienced this together, I mean we’ve all had a lil taste of what it’s like to be under house arrest
and It’s no fun to not have a choice to go out or nah.
I’ve heard and spoken with many of you and read from the others that I do not, and one thing other than boredom that keeps coming up is Quarantine weight gain.
Again and again I’ve heard the same story like “I did not know how long we would be stuck in the house so I bought all of my fav snakes, I just did not think I would get through them so quick!”
Or I was eating well before the lockdown then I started eating way too much again and now my trousers no longer fit”.
WELP! these comfort foods may seem or feel good to you, but like a wet dream when you wake up, you’re in a awkward position.
If you keep guns in your house you’re more likely to use it on someone than if you don’t have one right?
So these comfort foods are the same thing.
Add this on top of the fact that when we stay home on the whole we are less active.
Some of you may of even eaten foods that are way way wayyyy too processed and I haven’t even mentioned with all this Covid-19 talk about our mental health.
With some of you who may have fallen into depression or have high anxiety because of it.
Damn I even forgot about those of you that like to drink, on studying the alcoholic percentage sales stats you’ll find that it has shot up to 55% since we have been on lockdown.
Drinking makes us gain weight remember plus the calories are all hollow and empty, add that in with its a deadly poison that makes you lose your mind, you’ll end up eating God knows what and too much of it.
Gym’s are closed now too, and many are lost on how to work out without the gym.
This right here has led to a lot of weight gain and I’m finding out that a lot of you are struggling to find the energy to work out after that long binge of Tiger King or the Jordan doc.
So How Do I get rid of my Quarantine weight then ?… I’ll explain below!
The Story Must Change That You Tell Yourself
This cannot be skipped on or all the rest will fail and you’ll end up in a worst spot than you believe that you’re in now.
Instead of thinking about Quarantine 15, and thinking it’s all fun and games.. get serious!
Make a choice that this is your golden chance to lose weight, for some of you you’ve wanted this your whole life, for others you may feel shame for gaining as you’ve never been overweight before.
The only shame is not starting at all and not giving it your all.
Smile At Making Adjustments
Nobody knows how long this is going to last for, but we do know is that adjustments are coming thick and fast and we must change or get swept & I don’t want that for you.
From everything like washing hands more regularly & thoroughly to setting up an environment of health.. Fresh foods, water, positive vibes, watching positive content, having a clean home all these things play a major key.
Even if you have to go back to work start by prepping your meals the night before and take that with you.. rather than risking going into a place to eat a meal that might not even be healthy for one and then ending up with the virus.
Don’t forget to SMILE because it will make it a hell of a lot easier than doing everything with anger and fed up all the time.. It’s not good for you health either.
Keep Your Meals Simple
Like I said before we have to adjust your fav meals or products may not even be in the shop, or you may just want to get in and out of the shop as fast as you can.. it helps to keep things simple write-up a list and stick to that list no matter what.
Now it’s a lot easier to just get a takeaway (As my brother always says) but getting a simple healthy meal will not only be better for your insides but over time it will become a habit even if it’s not every time (But one can hope lol)
Simple meals don’t take effort to make and are easy to cook.. even if you cannot cook!
You might even come to enjoy eating the foods if you’re funny about eating healthy foods.. adjust, adjust adjust!
Shop With Smarts Not Heart!
If you’re heart really loves comfort foods and drinks then this what I mean..
When push comes to shove if you’re prone to go with your heart and choose comfort food over your health.
Then your waist line and health will make a fool of you in the long run.
Always shop with smarts & make the right adjustments for example it’s smart to stock up on inexpensive staple foods such as beans, tomatoes, whole grains and vegetables that are frozen.. rather than Alcohol, Candy & Cake.
Also think ahead think about what you’ll be eating not just in the now but in the next 2 weeks, month etc.
You can have snacks just make sure they’re healthy and food that you’ll stick to and don’t be dumb and buy impulse buys that will
That includes if you have a garden too! just being outside can do wonders for us & make us happier than being indoors all day.
I mean who says our garden is just for kids anyway?
We should all aim to go out as often as we can, go for a walk, workout, get some sunshine!
This can all be done safely and without breaking any rules that have been set wherever you live.
