How To Check In With Yourself

We often get told to check in on others, to see if they are ok & that’s great, however I’m finding that a lot of you are unaware of how to check in with yourself.

So, this what I’m going to be going through, so that you have yourself covered in a way that you may have thought about, or even done before, but not currently doing often enough & as a result of that, your mood and everything is not where you would like it to be right now.

Mental health is very important, and I really hope this will help you out.

The best part about checking in with yourself is that you don’t have to answer to anybody but yourself.

It’s your time, it does not always mean stopping what you’re doing if you’re doing other things, it can also mean when you are constantly talking to yourself, what you are saying is things to push you, not derail yourself.

Your thoughts on a daily, are important, how you react to what is going on around you, and to you, will affect you in the now and the days to come.

So with all that being said, you can first check on yourself by really hearing & trusting your intuition.

That’s your subconscious telling you what’s really going on even if we are not aware of it. It’s also known as your gut feelings, so always listen and go with that and you’ll find out that it’s not wrong at all or most of the time.

The second thing you can do which is really the first, but this is purely for you is to ask yourself some questions, I mean deeply, it could be when you first wake or in the shower, or on the way to somewhere over playing songs in your headphones.

The questions can be along the lines of how are you feeling? Whatever emotions you are feeling, explore them without judgment.

For example, if you’re not feeling it today, say it yourself but don’t beat yourself up about it, even better if you can trace back to what started to make you feel that way.

It helps a lot if you track it somewhere in a diary or on your phone, as a lot of the time we don’t tend to know where it started.

I get this all the time with those that I help, as they never made a note of their feelings, if you have a note of it then it can be traced back and even patterns can be seen, ok this triggers me, I have to cut out X or stop doing Z, I would encourage you to start doing this.

Your confidence will rise as you see the patterns in front of you, you also become more self-aware and in tune with your own emotions.

It’s about always asking the question, am I alright?,  how am I feeling ?, Is what I’m about to do make me feel better or worse ?, in the meantime when you are not checking in with yourself, your food will be feeding yourself with thoughts, visual and sounds that keep you going.

Positive vibes and energy, this will make you get to the root of yourself more than a negative one, when you’re feeling good you explore more then when you don’t feel good, you’re more open, this is all I’m saying, protect your mind and feed it with sources of upliftment and encouragement, as I believe that many give great advice to their friends, but don’t take their own advice on how to keep a clear mind and be positive even when it’s not going your way.

The words you say to yourself matter, it’s magic that’s why it’s called ‘Spelling’…

This should be so important to you that you even set some time in your day just to sit and reflect on your feelings, how you feel about your day and life.

That does not drift into what others have said or done, it’s all about how it made you feel, this all about you, no ?

You need to be at the best you can be daily, to make the best choices you can make right now ,no ?

Also, sometimes to check in on yourself, you don’t have to do anything but to just sit in silence!

If you want to meditate you can, but just to sit and be present, things will spring to mind that being overloaded with noise, you’d never get to hear if you did not just fall back.

If we put that same care we do for others, on ourselves if not even more, you would be more self-aware and in tune, this puts you in control of how you respond to your own thoughts, feelings & desires, you see once you’ve mastered that, it’s not that you won’t ever feel bad again, it’s you’ll be better prepared to get through it, at least.

This will make you better at responding to others and what life throws at you, then going through life as you have been doing, and suffering, life is for living, the suffering is real no doubt…

It’s just if you’re suffering in the mind, that’s far worse than any prison cell, you have to live with you, if you can check social media, news, friends and others you don’t know about their social status and what they are doing, you can do it for you, who you should be more excited to know more about.

The death of progress is when you think there is nothing else left to learn or to know, ‘Oh I know everything about me’.

So you’ll not progress any further, get any better, get rid of things and people that no longer serve you, or hold any purpose in your life any more, you will be the same guy or girl that you were 10 years from now ?

Check in with yourself, this helps with everything else in your life, and do this daily and as many times as you need to become aware in the now & Not of many yesterdays or the future which in both cases is a made up concept anyway, there is only an eternal now.

THAT’S IT!

Please let me know your thoughts on this?

  Until We Meet Again, Ciao
