Getting your kids to eat healthy everyday can be a challenge. It takes a lot of planning, motivation and many sparks of creativity.
One of the best gifts you could ever give your kids is teaching them about food and Di Nutrition starting from a young age is a great way of instilling healthy habits they will stick to into adulthood, then pass down to their children and so on.
I believe that Kids can catch the bug of healthy eating habits and a real love for food. Teaching your kids to love healthy food doesnβt just stop when they become teenagers either.
Di Nutrition education is a constant process where everyone of any age is always evolving and becoming healthier.
Are you ready to take your kids health to the next level?.. Hereβs how.
Eat Breakfast Everyday
There is a reason why they say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it sets you up for the rest of your day.. as thereβs a clear difference between kids Β who eat their Breakfast and those who do not.
Increased energy, concentration levels, positive mood, Healthier BMI AKA Body Mass Index and belly not rumbling etc. To not have any Breakfast at all for yourself is bad enough but to leave your kids without any is even worse.
Make sure that in the morning your kids have their Breakfast ready for them on time every day. I believe that if youβre leading by example and eating a healthy breakfast too your children will follow suit.
What to eat I hear you say.. (Click Here)Β
Place Healthy Snacks Strategically
Itβs great to always have healthy snacks on hand, be sure to put them where the kids can visually see them. Just like adults, they eat with their eyes.. Β make sure the snack is appealing when they see it.
For example leaving Bananas in the fruit bowl on the kitchen table is a smart idea because your kids will go past there many times during the day.
Let Them Know Where Food Comes From
If youβre not too careful they will swear blind it comes from anyone of the numerous fast junk joints circling around your local area.
Itβs a sad state of affairs where many children have not had the opportunity to get any sort of awareness of where real food actually comes from. Iβm talking about the farm to table process, even down to what Fruit and Vegetable looks like on the farm.
I would suggest you take your kids to your nearest food farm and let them experience the different Fruit and Vegetables and how to select each. For example, now many food farms allow apple picking in Autumn, along with selecting fresh eggs straight from the hen itself.
Thereβs also Vegetable pickings you can do on the farms beyond just Autumn and Apples, such as Butternut squash, Tomatoes, Green beans and Aubergines.
If you donβt have any food farms close by then not to worry, you can still take them to the supermarket and teach them about the different Vegetables and Fruits and how to select each.
With this experience/methods your kids will start to develop a true appreciation for food, which will lead to a better meal appreciation and a sense of gratitude for fresh and whole ingredients/foods.
Have Kids Participate In the Kitchen
Get your kids into the kitchen helping out and learning about the mechanics of cooking, the younger the better so that when they reach their teens and tweens, they are able to make their own meals without assistance. Once again this is something they can pass down to their kids and so on.
Thatβs It
I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys. Please do let me know thoughβ¦

Education is the key so I’m happy you’re shinning a light on it.
Facts Krystal! Thanks for your support it means a lot π
Thank you Karim for this article, you have good ideas all the time.
Very true Karim it’s a great gift to give.
Thanks Benny π
I advocate a healthy lifestyle but my kids always want sweets.
I need to start telling them no and taking them to nature instead.
I love this comment Brynjar.. Your kids will thank you when you follow thorough with this when they’re older, just wait π
My kids are not having a healthy breakfast at all π
but I’ve had a look at your healthy breakfast tips and I’m
going to buy some healthy food from now on.
Excellent Dane.. I’m really happy for you and your kids π
My children’s health is very important to me, I need to show them a better example
as I’ve let myself go a bit. I’m on your meal plan right now I’m on day 4 and I’m loving
the meals, it taste like heaven in my mouth lol.
I’m glad to hear that. Amazing Roman! taking action with a purpose behind it.. Ahaha heaven in your mouth, I’m happy you enjoy the meals π
I’m going to educate my kids as much as possible.
I want them to be able to make the best food choices.
Sonjay good for you π
I like this π
Thanks Cecilie π
My kids are a nightmare but I’m going to make it more appealing to them from now on.
Aha I believe in you Madeleine π
AWWW π
My kids have been nagging me to let them eat better, I’ve given in now!
Clever kids π
My kids got me on the same thing.
LOL
My children are not having the type of Breakfast I would like them to have.
I let them choose and it’s always the sugary brands they want, do you think I
should put my foot down?
I think you’ve answered your own question here Alisha, you’re the one that purchases the items.. if you want them to have a healthy breakfast then make it so! they may not be happy at first but over time plus with reinforcement/education about the benefits of healthy eating they will thank you in years to come π
I normally feel guilty but it’s not healthy so you’re right here.
I give them healthy options only to eat, I’m more worried about what they eat at school more than anything else.
I never even thought of that, big facts right there.. Schools are working on healthy meals, but it’s still needs a lot of work you know. Irina I take it you give your kids pat lunch, and a concerned about the sweets on the way from school to home? in which case your encouragement about healthy eating plus your example over time will build their respect for you, want to take action themselves and your level of trust will go up in them too, to make the right choices. I hope this helps much love π
I want to give my kids a better future so their health is so important to me. This was very powerful article I learned a lot π
I can feel your energy when I read that Elly for sure, for sure.. I’m glad you felt the power of this article, much love to you π

This brought back memories of my mum sharing the exp of real food with me. My kids need this exp tooπ
Aha get on it Tess make it happen π
I sending my kids to gym class after school, and I make sure they stay away from junk food on the most part.
Keep working on this, even on weekends make sure they’re keeping fit.. I love the effort you’ve made already though π
My kids have white toast with cheese is that healthy ?

My efforts have not been great towards my kids health, this has motivated me to make a change though as I’ve never thought about it so deeply before.
Well I’m glad Troy that this has got you motivated/thinking more deeply about your kids health.. thank you for sharing this with us π
My kids sometimes skip Breakfast and it’s my fault because I wake up late for work. I’ve seen your article on sleep randomly and now I’ve been on time for work everyday for the last 4 days, which means I’m not as stressed and I get paid my full amount in the month (I’ve not had full pay for about 4 years now) Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Wow I’m happy my article has gotten you a full months pay after so long! Wake up early make breakfast for you and your kids though.. don’t forget π
My kids are my world so everything.
π
I don’t even have any children but this has made me think.. I want to make my kids eating habits better than my own.
Love this comment Finn.. You’re exactly right, they are the future π
This has made me think before I buy as I’m an impulse buyer at heart,
I now bring a list with me and don’t divert off that.
Good for you Zed, I’m happy you came to that decision π
Kids health is everything I really don’t like the thought of a young kid dying early.
Very true Oz.. very true!
I took my kids to a farm near where I live and we all had so much fun.
Thank you because it was your suggestion that made our bond stronger.
Awesome I’m very happy for you that you’ve got a stronger bond with your kids now! It’s made this article worthwhile, thank you for sharing this with us Joy π
The only way my children eat their greens is if I mask it, or in their meals they enjoy like pasta or burgers.
The only 4 and 6 should I be worried ?
No it’s natural for them especially the way the marketing is for junk (Cartoons and bright colours ect) Just be consistent and take what you learn from me and pass it down to them!
In like 10 years they’ll be so aware of what they’re putting in their mouths, from their they really will have made a choice because they know both sides.. I hope that helps Ryan π
I’ve started making my little boy oats since reading your article, I use to give him cereal bars
but as you told me it’s packed with sugar.
Yes well remembered.. this was a smart move, I’m really proud of you Jelanea.
