If you are shopping in the dark, I’m not talking about the lights cutting out at the supermarket!
I’m talking about you not reading the back of food labels, what you will find is there is a good chance that you’ll be eating things that have food additives in them.
They are put into food and drink to enhance flavours, textures or appearance… Mainly, though, to extend the shelf life.
These substances are unhealthy, and you should not be eating them, so I’m going to talk about common food additives, to stop eating.
You may no MSG as Maddison square gardens, but I know it as monosodium glutmate.
It’s a food additive used to enhance the flavour of savoury dishes.
MSG you would normally find it in canned soups, overly salty junk (Which some of you think is a snack) and frozen dinners.
I cannot forget that all fast food joints and certain restaurants will have MSG too.
MSG will make you gain weight and mess up your metabolism, those that eat and get headaches, the sweats etc…
It will most likely be down to MSG being in the product, a lot of kids have been blamed for their parents becoming ill, but I know that it was the MSG on the most part that did more harm.
Artificial Food Colouring
You knew this one was coming, right?
Artificial food colouring is used to make the appearance of everything look bright, think cakes and candies.
Rightfully so, though, we are starting to question the potential health effects of it.
Certain dyes, such as yellow 5, yellow 6 and red 40 have been associated with allergic reactions in certain people.
Artificial food colouring also promotes hyperactivity in children, which is not a huge shock, but this is also has the potential to cause cancer in young children.
Red 3, for example, increases your chances of getting thyroid tumour, this is why the health industry replaced it with red 40, which is still bad for you but not to the point of thyroid tumours.
Processed foods are fake like a BBL, if you’re a real one… Eat like it!
Always opt for whole foods, this way you will not have to think about if this has artificial food colouring or not.
Sodium Nitrite This will be found in processed meats.
You see, sodium nitrite acts as a preservative to prevent bacteria, whilst also adding a salty flavour to it.
When exposed to high temps/ amino acids, the nitrites can turn into nitrosamine, this is a compound that can have many negative effects to our health if we fail to stop eating them.
This can lead to stomach cancer, this is why you should not be eating high intakes of processed meats, or this is what you will get.
That real, real won’t ever do this to you, though! I may also add that processed meats can lead to breast and bladder cancer too.
If you eat meat, this is easy work as you can stop eating processed meats such as bacon & ham for example and go for chicken and fish.
If you don’t eat meat at all, nuts and legumes… Everybody can get it, so not to do it, after reading this pfttt that’s on you!
This is easy work, so many ways to get it, but do you want to be healthy as much as you talk about it huh?
