A Christmas Carol – If Scrooge Can Why Not You?

So what has a tale written in 1843 by a really famous author (Charles Dickens) got to do with anything?

This tale’s (if you don’t know) moral is all about giving and being kind to one another, which is what is certainly needed more of in the world today.

It also reminds me of something else… like Scrooge it’s very easy to get stuck in habits of behavior and eating patterns, especially negative ones because of past experiences, you never got the memo or simply jumping on the bandwagon because everyone around you is doing the same things daily.

The thing is when you are doing these things such as: mindless eating and sedentary activities which include: sitting on the sofa watching reality tv or news daily, for long periods in the holiday seasons especially the big one (Christmas).

Everything blows way out of proportion…things start to expand for the worse like greed & fearfulness of taking action for example, which is all negative and keeps you where you are at… not to mention bad for your health.

So really this is about breaking the cycle and burning it to ash!  Sometimes we need a wake-up call in life… gaining unwanted weight is not inevitable over Christmas or any other day for that matter.

It does not have to be the same for you again this year, when are you going to say “enough, it’s time for change?”   When will you drop your pride and ego and say I don’t know it all and I need some help here please?  It’s as easy as… (Click Here)  When will you stop saying “Bah humbug” and rolling your eyes to taking your health seriously?

I for one am not waiting for Christmas eve to let you see the messages from the four ghosts of Christmas, In fact here they are below.

The First Night:

The Ghost Of Smartness- During the Christmas holiday season, unhealthy nibbles such as chocolates & cookies are available for you take at your pleasure.

As you may know but might have ignored, the easier the access to the nibbles, the more you will be prone to indulge.

I must warn you as the ghost of smartness to use your smarts, if you are reading this you most likely have goals and ambitions to lose weight, right?

Yet these nibbles are countering your every move, it’s time you became the master of the food and not the other way around… GET RID

I am a smart ghost and have foreseen that your own house is one thing, but going to another’s let’s say family or friends for a Christmas party… then what?

Well you can overcome these situations by becoming more mindful of not just snacking, but what you are snacking. Just because there’s food on offer does not mean you’re that hungry or need to eat that particular thing. If you feel weak and you’re just not quite there with the whole temptation thing then you are better off avoiding it altogether.

Then saying that, why can’t you snack on real food such as fruits, nuts and vegetables?  These foods don’t contain added sugar or unhealthy fats… both of which lead to the weight gain you so desperately do not want. I’ll leave you in peace to think things through.

The Second Night:

The Ghost Of Christmas Past- When I was once alive I saw many people telling me what they “want to do” and now as a ghost I see even more of it.

If your actions are the same as they have been in the past what will happen?

Yes, I understand that doing something different may have not been the original plan, or something you have not had time to really process yet. Let me tell you though when you decided to not just talk about what you want, and actually do the work, that’s when your Christmases will be different and the rest of your life too.  Do not die a fool repeating the same mistakes over and over again. I see many ghosts who are haunting people who are in a zombie like state  because they are deep in regret about their own mistakes, but also they want to see you do what they never did… Succeed at this!

I must warn you not to spend too much time in the past or you may end up too comfy here, but whilst you are here though… (Click Here)

The Third Night:

The Ghost Of Present Activity- What are you doing right now to change your fortunes? for I am the ghost of present action, and I care little about what you did yesterday.

Why? Because as far as I’m concerned it does not exist! The most important time is right now.

Whilst you’re weighing up your options for the future and thinking about many yesterdays… the present which is you right now, is rotting.

First inside then your outer layer for all to see. I hear many screams at night saying you look worse than me. I died in 1912 my friend.

My advice to you is to put all your focus on what matters, like all the challenges of today to get things moving right now.

Inactivity contributes to weight gain, period.

Doing some type of physical activity this Christmas holiday and for the rest of your life, will prove beneficial for avoiding weight gain.

“I DON’T WANT TO DO IT ALONE” you scream. Then do it with your family or friends  “ DO WHAT?” you scream? Go for a simple walk

With your family, this will allow you to bond with your loved ones whilst getting your mind off the life stresses that sent me to my early grave.

“IT’S SO COLD THOUGH” you scream. There are no excuses if you want to stay indoors then go to You Tube, there a plenty of fitness videos for literally anything you want to do.

I must warn you, excuses will not wash with me, take action now not later, not tomorrow and not next…….. those days never come.

The Last Night:

The Ghost that is yet to come – Stay how you are, however you are, whoever you are… you will die, first mentally then physically. You must be willing to grow daily for any lasting changes to be made, for any blessings that is yet to come your way.

You must also stay persistent as this journey is a long one, who ever told you it would be easy lied to you… but it can become easier, if only you grow and learn what you do not yet know.

For you can be at a healthy weight, you can be eating a lot better, you can find happiness inside of yourself, you can be able to finally  look in the mirror and say “ I love myself”.  You can fulfill anything your heart most desires… providing you do the work and keep expanding in all the right ways such as gratitude and love which will get you a lot further in your goals and life… than greed and fearfulness and besides gratitude and love is good for your health.

So Why Not You? – As clueless and as mean as Scrooge was to everybody around him he changed, for the better. Remember when we hear about Scrooge and how he was we laugh at him and wonder why he’s so mean, why does he have no clue?? In our judgments we forget that we can be like Scrooge for other things in our lives.

Once you are aware, you too can change just like Scrooge did and hopefully like him, you will see a brand new side to yourself… and you’ll  jaw drop  to see the much improved person you have become and keep becoming the more you learn and develop as a man or woman.

That’s It!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys.  Please do let me know though…

What do you make of all this?

Which of the four ghost impacted you the most ?

What will you do this Christmas to make sure you do not gain unwanted weight?

What is stopping you from taking action right now?

How are you celebrating Christmas this year?

Of course Any other questions are always welcome just leave a comment below

Have A Very Merry Christmas

We Look Up 大

lose the weight now with your help. Thank you for giving me the confidence to take action.

The Ghost of smartness is the best one! It makes no sense for me to have boxes of chocolates and sodas that I’m trying to avoid anyway.

I was going to buy lots this year, but on reflection there are plenty of healthy options 🙂

This was a great way of getting your point across.

The Ghost of Christmas past impacted me the most on the second night.

I’ll still be watching what I eat and working out!

you’ve taught me even if I don’t go to the gym that is no excuse to not work out.

I’ll be celebrating Christmas with all my family over at my house.

Awesome post here. My main takeaway from this is there’s a lot I don’t know too, so I shouldn’t be judgemental on others.

I’ve got to take time to work on my health because I’m going to regret it if I don’t.

Thanks for the motivation.

I’ve more or less decided that the best way to deal with the festive season is to workout in the mornings, then when I get back take several good books and start the process of reading them whilst eating fruit, I’ll just not think about what others are eating!
