The quality of food we eat is so important to how much energy we have throughout the day, the obs poor choices of a sugar rush will just not do so forget that.
For those of you that did not know all food gives us energy, but there’s levels to this!
These foods I’m about to speak about increase your energy levels and maintain your alertness, which will keep you focused on a parallel path of being the healthiest version of yourself
to date.
Bananas
I mean everybody loves Bananas! So I had to start with this one because it’s one of the best energy foods & you should be eating this often.
It’s a great source of potassium, vitamin B6 & carbs which is what we need to boost our energy levels up.
Also, I’m talking about eating it, all that blending just gets rid of most of the nutrients so it goes from great to okay… Why do that right?
Ok next….
Brown Rice
Some of you Di1’s are very funny about this “Oh but Brown rice make me rah rah rah” & I’m like yeah but you’re still eating rice…
The white version which is trash!
It’s taking your energy away, it’s like wanting to fly in the sky but you’re drowning in the ocean.
Brown rice is very nutritious it has hella fiber, vitamins and minerals, It also helps break down enzymes, proteins and carbs which generates energy.
It also has a low GI (Glycemic index) which is great for regulating blood sugar levels, so that’s steady energy throughout the day.
Nuts
If you have a nut allergy then skip this one, but for everyone else you need to be eating these.
Nuts may look small, but they’re packed with nutrients that give us energy, that is why you see hikers eating them often.
Nah I’m not talking about K.P nuts less of thattttttttt!
You need nuts like Cashews, Almonds, Walnuts etc…
They are the ones that are high in calories and have so much protein, carbs and healthy fats in them.
Also nuts contain minerals and vitamins such as B vitamins, vitamin E, iron etc and what these do is help increase your energy and decreases your tiredness.
Beetroots
Beetroots used to be frowned upon a decade ago, but now has become more in due to the fact that it really helps with our blood flow and it’s antioxidant content.
They’re packed with fiber, carbs & natural sugar which will give us a sustained energy boost throughout the day.
Beetroots also improve energy and stamina, this is perfect for those of you who are starting to run or have been running for ages but are looking to add to your stamina tank.
Sweet Potatoes
This potato is so underrated I don’t know why y’all are not eating this enough on the daily.
It tastes so goooooooood, it has a great source of energy for anyone who is looking for a boost.
The best part about Sweet potatoes is that the fiber along with the complex carb contents makes your body digest it very slow..
Which gives you steady energy throughout your day.
Fish
I’m talking about the fatty fish.. The healthy fats duhhhhhh!
Salmon & Tuna for example are good sources of protein and fatty acids, so please add these to your lifestyle.
Fatty fish will give you the omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B12, the fatty acids in omega-3 is known to reduce inflammation..
Which is great for when you fatigue.
