10 Healthy Foods That Help Relieve Stress

For many of my Di1’s you already know about my thoughts on stress (Read more) & how to handle stress (Read more).

This is now just about what foods can help you relieve the stress, as some of y’all go to ones are straight trash!

We’ve got to do better, so much better for our health & to reach our goals.

So here are 10 that when you’re feeling down you can eat, everything healthy helps… & eating a tub of ice cream just ain’t it!

 Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are very nutrient-rich carb sources, just like many whole foods are.

Sweet potatoes lowers stress hormone cortisol, when you’re really stressed out over time it could lead to cortisol dysfunction.

Which could lead to pain and inflammations inside you.

This has potassium and vitamin C and these two are important to eat as it hits back against stress in day to day life.

Kimchi

Kimchi for those that do not know WTH I’m talking about, is a fermented vegetable dish from South Korea that is made up of cabbage and radish.

Now kimchi helps reduce stress and anxiety and it’s well known it helps with mental health.

So please if you’ve never tried it before please do so, thank me later!

Eggs

When I’m talking about eggs I’m not just talking about the whites, I’m talking about the whole thing too!

They’re packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants & amino acids which really help with stress.

Eggs are also rich in choline, a nutrient that is found in not many other foods to be honest.

Choline is very important for brain health and helps to protect against stress.

It’s also boost your mood, not on its own of course you got to meet the eggs half way ok!

Fatty Fish

I’m not talking about battered fish or anything like that LMAO!

The good fats such as mackerel, salmon, sardines etc are very rich in omega-3 fat and vitamin D, over the years these nutrients have all known to help reduce stress levels and boost our mood.

Omega-3 are not only just important for our brain health though and mood, you need to know it helps handle the stress before it comes.

When you are low on omega-3 it can drop you into depression a lot faster, so I would suggest that you start adding more fatty fish to your meals pronto.

Broccoli

That cruciferous fam again!

They’re really a health bunch…

Kale is broccoli’s brother, but anyway broccoli is known for its healthiness.

Broccoli lowers your risk of some cancers, mental health disorders and heart disease.

They have so much vitamin C, magnesium & folate that this is a great food to combat against depression.

The broccoli that you eat is also rich in sulforaphane, and sulfur is a compound that has neuroprotective properties that give you a calming feeling, call it a antidepressant if you will.

Chickpeas

Chickpeas are packed with minerals and vitamins.

One’s like magnesium, potassium, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese ect.

These legumes are a great way to start off too, I would suggest you try them first as they taste really nice.

Blueberries

This is a great one Di1’s!

They improve your mood for sureeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Easy to eat, so go crazy and eat as many as you can!

They are high in flavonoid antioxidants that have powerful anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects…

All stress related celluar damage and inflammation it goes along way to protecting us from it.

It will boost your mood and protect you from going into depression.

Brazil Nuts

Brazil nuts are high in selenium which improves our mood and reduces inflmmation.

This will help fight off anxiety and again if you can eat nuts, please start     rigth away!

Yoghurt

Yoghurt contains a healthy bacteira, lactabaccilus and bifidobacteria (It’s not a Harry Potter Spell!)

Just like with Kimchi it’s fermented so it helps with positive effects on our brain.

Just go for yoghurts that are not so high in sugar and low in fat!

Or it wont work nearly as well, and obs unhealthy!

Avocados

Avocados are so good I don’t care if you mash up into guacamole (So long as you’re not dipping them in crisps!)

Avocados have omega-3 fatty acids in them and other essential acids that are known to reduce stress and anxiety, helps with concentration and boost your mood.

Again I find that avocados are so easy to add to your meals and taste nice, it’s another one to start eating right away for sure!

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys. Please do let me know though…
