Quinoa is very healthy for us to be eating & is eaten by so many across the globe.
So what better time to find out a lil more about quinoa than right now right?
Here are some health benefits of eating quinoa.
Quinoa is high in protein and really stands out because it contains a lot of the nine essential amino acids that we need.
Very few do this when it comes to plant foods, so it’s really good, it also has a high amount of fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, …
iron, potassium, calcium, vitamin E, phosphorus & other antioxidants inside quinoa.
Some of you may think it’s a cereal grain, but you’d be wrong it’s a pseudo-cereal.
It’s also gluten-free, and I’ll do that one in a later, but I would like to end with this has a very small amount of omega-3 fatty acids in it.
High In Fiber
This is really important as it’s very high for fiber content which is what we want.
The fiber grams range from 10 to 16 grams per 100 grams too.
This is good because we are looking to stay fuller for longer, so we do not overeat… Plus it’s taste sooo good.
Ok as you know it’s gluten-free, so this is great for those that cannot eat gluten or just looking to eat less gluten.
There is nothing wrong with gluten- free food if you really eat foods that are naturally gluten-free.
You see this is where the problem lies, people start eating gluten-free foods that are made from refined starches…
We all know that’s not good for us now, don’t we ?
These foods are no better than the gluten version, and you need to know there is such thing as gluten-free junk LMAO!!!
Don’t get gassed just because it says on it gluten-free on it, look at what it is first, as junk is still junk gluten-free or not you feel me?
High in Protein
Protein is made of amino acids, now like I said before this has all nine of the essentials, as our body cannot produce them and needs to obtain them via eating them.
Also when the food has all nine amino acids, it’s known as a complete protein, which is very good for us to get all nine essential acids in one sitting.
Quinoa is good for those that eat plant-based so vegans & vegetarians eat away.
