The Two Sides Of Food Cravings

To ignore your food cravings is so damn hard! They’re an intense feeling or desire for a specific type of food.

So it’s just what type of food do you desire to eat & that will vary from Di1 to Di1.

So really this is all about the two sides to food cravings & what I believe It means/ possible reasons behind the cravings.

What Are The Two Sides Of Food Cravings?

If I split cravings into two it would be one side physical and the other mental.

Letting you know this will help you better identify the factors that trigger you and your own cravings.

The Physical Side

Next To No Sleep: When we get no sleep or poor quality sleep it really mucks up our levels of hormones that protect our sleep cycles, wake cycles, hunger & fullness.

You know this also pushes our food cravings to the max, the evenings typically being the tipping point.

I’ve got a load of tips on sleep please check them out if your sleep sucks!

Do not sleep on sleep, it seems to always be overlooked and it’s like noooooooo get that right it will set you upppp!

A Diet: Diets suck! It has to turn into a lifestyle or you will catch an L over and over again.

To feel full you need to be eating your nutrients such as protein and fiber… Which keeps you fuller for longer.

We focus way too much on eating less or eating more and not on what you are eating.

If you eat rubbish and things that will spike your cravings like candy your body will reply with a rumble…

I don’t like that AKA Earth quake city settings!

Pregnancy: For my chicas who’s hormonal changes may have a big influence on her smell and taste, which causes them to experience a more intense craving/ desires for certain foods.

Oh I’m not done with you Chicas yet…

PMS: AKA Premenstrual syndrome this is the changes in the hormone’s estrogen & progesterone that take place right before y’alls period… which again gives them a more intense craving for certain foods, I’ve been told many times it’s carb foods that are the go to.

Your Hydration Sucks: Not drinking your water is going to make you feel hungry all day every day, going for sources that make you cravings worse like fizzy drinks, store bought fruit juices really sets you back.

Whatever you’re drinking, you must add water to… we are made from the damn thing yet some of you do not drink it at all!

For anyone that has the thinking of oh my life sucks rah rah rah, nah you got it wrong your lack of sleep, foods you consume & little to no water does.

I do not know anyone who does this as part of their lifestyle that then tells me life sucks…

Not one person, you know what to do now.

Too Much Processed Foods: I’m talking highly processed.

Foods that are too rich in added fat and sugar cause addiction, which of course means for sure you have cravings.

Eat fresh & eat real food to save you from this addiction.

You Don’t Want To Get Physical: Well ok the one you’re all thinking about you might!

I’m talking about walking more, running, sports, working out etc.

The less you move the more you will experience food cravings, every human on this earth should be moving around if they’re able to in any way they can get it.

Stand still, get  swept by the sea for sure!

Your Eating Frequency Is All Over The Place: Sometimes you eat every 5 hours, sometimes it’s 10 you know your body does not do well with randomness.

When you are eating rich whole foods that keep you fuller for longer every 4 hours let’s say, your body will be better off and you will not have these cravings.

You neglect your hunger your cravings will force you into other plans, which if you have goals to lose weight is going to mess you up big time.

Frequency at which you eat the craved foods.

Eating a craved food less frequently may be more effective at reducing your craving for that particular food than eating a small portion of that food whenever you crave it.

Mental Side

Your Personality: If you have an impulsive or more addictive personality you may also have a higher chance of experiencing food cravings, It’s just how it is.

It does not mean you’re doomed though, it just means you have to put in that much work & focus more…

I believe nobody with an addictive personality should be drinking, placing bets, eating rubbish etc.

If we flip this to all the healthy habits instead and you zero in on them with your personality, It’s a wrap you will kill that ish and be all the better for it!

It’s a blessing not a curse you just need to harness it.

Your Mood Is Everything: This how we get comfort food!  When we feel negative and get in a bad mood or feel sad we can start to eat food that is no good for us, but we feel good in the moment.

This sparks cravings for the comfort foods, so it’s best when you get to this place to start eating healthy foods, so your go to food will change to let’s say fruit over some left over cake.

We know the process already you will feel guilty about eating it as you have goals to lose weight/ be healthy, then you end up eating even more! I know we too smart for this.

Filling Your Self With Doubt: Self doubt makes you not want to do anything, or believe that you can do anything and that’s life let alone lil old food!

If you are not sure about what to eat and what not to, do not close your eyes and hope for the best…

The same phone you have most likely reading this from, can be used to look it up it lit does not take very long.

Now I know there is a lot of info and what is true and what is not true, but is not better to have some sort of idea of what you’re putting in your mouth and what it is doing to you now and your body long term?

I also would answer anybody who ask me if X is healthy or if Y is healthy, or what is best for me to eat or drink X or Y. I’ts no probs for me,

I want all of you to be able to eat with confidence that what you’re eating is legit and free up more headspace for other important matters in life.

So instead of talking to yourself and filing yourself with self-doubt, just ask for help as there is nothing weak or wrong with that.

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys. Please do let me know, though…
