How To Be Healthy At Work

If you work for a boss then more than likely you  spend the majority of your day at work right? Those long hours grafting day after day just sitting at a desk, you’re most likely thinking Di Nutrition tips are awesome but I’m at work all day and can only apply on weekends… INCORRET!

Do not be a mindless idiot like your annoying colleagues and start thinking for yourself. If this is the place you spend most of your days it only makes sense to make space in your life for a healthier environment.. even if it’s just your work area.

Waiting until you get home to do a workout or to start doing anything health related clearly is not working for you, as your energy has been drained, you can barely keep your eyes open and are starving to the point of rushing to the nearest bin site to pick up  junk via a drive through.

Health is wealth people. You can have any  X amount of cash you like but if you are not healthy… you really are  poor. A true wealthy person does not neglect his or her body, certainly not for money! Re-read that again doesn’t that sound awful.

Chances are very high though that if you are reading this it has really dawned on you that enough is enough and it’s time to change things for the better. Well I see no better time than  right now to share with you some healthy tips you can apply at work ASAP.

The Night Before- Strange as it might seem before we even deal with the morning we need to focus first on the night before. You need to prepare before you go into work,  what you’re going to do for yourself to improve your health.

At least 5 different things that you will do that will benefit you during your working hours, whether that’s drinking a certain amount of water before you finish work or deciding to go for a walk consistently at break times. Make a note of it on your phone the night before like a to do list.. challenge yourself the next day to complete it before work is done.

Food prep is also another thing. Rather than just starving after a long shift, how about preparing simple snacks to put in a container for you to eat during the day instead? You can purchase them but just remember to read the label.

It can be fruits, raisins, Greek yogurt or nuts it really does not matter.. so long as you curb the vending machines filled with nothing but chocolate and crisps YUK.

Also sleep.. you need 8 to 9 hours sleep, no less no more. No amount of money is worth seeing your beautiful face turn into a unfamiliar baggy/red eyed version, this will help you out (Click Here)

Eat Your Breakfast Daily- My Di1’s already know this all too well that every day you must have breakfast, If you’re a part of “Team Skip Breakfast” you’re setting yourself up for disaster. FYI these foods do not count as Breakfast (Click Here) to think otherwise is very naive.

I can hear some of you saying “Oh but I don’t have time to eat Breakfast”  to which I say  you’ve got no time to eat breakfast?, but you’ve got time to starve for half the day, eat rubbish and then end up with chronic diseases?….  No? well quit the excuses then, nobody’s got time for that!

Cut Out Sugary Drinks & Replace With Water- I touched on this earlier about challenging yourself to drink a certain amount of water during the day  before work is done, but in general you will feel so much better when you are drinking water instead of sugary drinks. After all water is what we are made up of (Click Here) and Sugary drinks.. this is not just fizzy drinks (Click Here)  it’s also fruit juices if you’re shocked by this then I urge you to read this…  (Click Here)

For those who think water is just too bland to drink all day… you can put Lemon or Lime in it, to sour for you?  There a plenty of flavored waters out there for you to taste, you really have no excuses.

Bring Your Own Lunch- If you don’t trust yourself to spend your money wisely on a lunch that is Di nutritionally great for you then why not make it yourself?  You can do this the night before and bring it in to work with you, so when everyone else is stressing about what to eat you’ve already got yours.

If you do trust yourself then you will be well aware that these real restaurants have lots of healthy options on their menus for you to choose from, whatever you decided, do not play yourself and go into McDonalds or anywhere like that.. I know they claim to be a restaurant… yeah right.

Move Around- Get moving! Be a person actively looking for any chances you get to move, we were not designed to just sit around all day, we are designed to move around.. so please do so.

I was reading the other day about the heaviest women that has ever lived, now she did not move much  and ended up being at her peak 78 stones /1092 pounds…  she ended up losing her life, due to neglect of her own body.

Don’t neglect yourself now… don’t forget.

Stand Up- Sitting down for long hours causes obesity and can lead to real bad back problems such as sciatica. Instead take a break from sitting down and like I said previously get moving, if you don’t have a standing desk get yourself/request one for your own health’s sake.

If you’re stuck at a desk then get up every hour and move around, it will make all the difference in the long term.

THAT’S IT!

I really enjoyed sharing this with you guys.  Please do let me know though…

I always use the excuse of not having time but it’s exactly that an excuse. I always fit time to eat fast food so I can do the same but have a nutritional meal instead. I hate being overweight! I just started your meal plan last week, loving it so far.

Great tips here Karim once again thanks. I’ve got a stand up desk for work and I found that I have to exercise in the morning if I’m going to be standing all day. I find it very hard to workout after work after standing all day, so I do it before work instead.
